The article analyzes the historical essence of the policy of repression in Uzbekistan in 1937-1938, its socio-political causes, and its negative impact on the fate of the national intelligentsia. The mass repressions that occurred as a result of Stalin’s personality cult policy are revealed. The research uses archival sources and official statistical data, and the relevance of the topic is scientifically highlighted.
