THE SYMBOL OF WOMEN IN FAY WELDON’S LITERARY WORKS

Fay Weldon CBE was an English author, essayist and playwright, whose work has been associated with feminism. In her fiction, Weldon typically portrayed contemporary women who find themselves trapped in oppressive situations caused by the patriarchal structure of British society. Her works “Weekend” (story), “The fat woman’s joke” and others are the works in which she illustrates the defect of society analogues to the role of females and males. As a feminist writer, reflects the problems of women in patriarchal societies by referring to the conflicts between women and men. She criticizes the prejudice of the male-dominated society against women and underlines the necessity to eliminate the oppression imposed upon the female and to change the perspective of society towards women. Widely known as a feminist postmodern writer dealing with the issues related to women and their position in society, Fay Weldon, herself, experiences the misery and the suffering many women have been faced with due to the oppression of the male-dominated world. Being a single mother, she has to cope with financial problems and the hardships of life, as a result of which she begins to write about the problems of women. Therefore, her biography is compatible with her works in which she refers to the troubles of women and the oppression inflicted upon them. Moreover, being brought up in a house full of women, she finds the opportunity to witness the unfair situations happening to women.

WOMANIST FEATURES IN THE NOVEL OF THE TEMPLE OF MY FAMILIAR BY ALICE WALKER

In this article, there are basic information on referring to this novel "The Temple of My Familiar," a more detailed analysis of the novel's seconds, Walker's theoretical methods of describing or developing works on femininity. If we take Walker's original definition of the concept as a starting point, after analysis, it should not surprise us that most of the aspects discussed in the four topics and the description of the section is literally irreversible in the novel. Also, in my opinion, the book confirms Walker’s most striking and perhaps most important feature is femininity: her universalist position. It is this attitude that is most important in contrast to basic feminism and African-Americanism.

THE PSYCHOLOGICAL AND SOCIAL CONSTRAINTS IN JAMES JOYCE’S EVELINE

James Joyce’s short story Eveline, from his collection Dubliners (1914), explores the internal conflict of a young woman trapped between the past and the uncertain future. Through a detailed psychological and socio-cultural lens, this article examines how Eveline reflects the struggles of women in early 20th-century Ireland. Eveline’s paralysis, resulting from familial obligations, religious guilt, and fear of the unknown, embodies Joyce’s broader theme of existential stagnation. The paper also contextualizes Eveline’s situation within contemporary feminist theory and historical Irish cultural norms. By drawing on psychological and literary analysis, this study demonstrates how Joyce’s use of epiphany and narrative structure underscores the protagonist’s tragic immobility.

IMPLEMENTING THE PRINCIPLE OF GENDER EQUALITY IN A BALANCE OF SECULARISM AND RELIGIOSITY

The article notes that the issue of gender equality in Uzbekistan has become a priority of public policy, especially the creation of an equal legal framework for the activities of women in all areas. But unfortunately, our people do not use them widely or are not allowed by their relatives. The gaps in our legal consciousness, in our spirituality, are clearly visible in the problem of gender equality. Gender equality is sometimes seen as the opposite of our national and religious values. To what extent do Islamic morality conform to the principle of gender equality, including whether there are equal opportunities for Muslims and non-Muslims in matters of education, and what is the status of gender equality in Muslim families? Issues such as whether it is supported are covered in the scientific article on the basis of clear arguments.
