THE LIVERPOOL POETS AND THEIR APPROACH TO POETRY

The article is a brief introduction to the work of the "Liverpool poets", a group of young beat poets from Liverpool: A. Henry, R. McGough, B. Patten, popular in Great Britain in the 60s of the twentieth century. Contemporaries of the famous "Liverpool Four", "Liverpool poets" gained recognition not only due to the extreme popularity of Liverpool among young people around the world, but also due to their own original experiments with oral poetic word. The focus on direct live contact with the audience largely determined the specifics of their creative method. The elements of this method should be considered, firstly, the informal, entertaining, performative nature of the performances and the cross-use of various stage methods of influence: musical accompaniment, vocalization, chant, visual clarity, costumes, short dramatic etudes-parodies. Secondly, the emphasis on the colloquial tone of both speeches and the language of the poetic works themselves. Thirdly, the active use of local Liverpool realities and features of the everyday life of an ordinary city dweller. In this sense, the activities of the "Liverpool poets" could be considered provincial. On the other hand, demonstrative provincialism usually involves a challenge to the establishment. In this case, a challenge to metropolitan London, a traditional trendsetter, new trends and critical assessments. Targeting popular popular taste allows critics to place "Liverpool poets" in the category of pop poets. But if for some poet such an assessment may sound like a death sentence, then for the Liverpool troika it is a sign of recognition and success. As an illustration, the article proposes an analysis of A. Henry's poem.

OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES OF ALTERNATIVE CURRENCIES: A CASE STUDY OF UZBEKISTAN

The rapid development of financial technologies has transformed the way economies transact, invest, and store value. Alternative currencies—including cryptocurrencies, central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), and local complementary currencies—have emerged as both an opportunity and a challenge for nations worldwide. For Uzbekistan, a country in transition with ambitious goals for digital transformation, the potential of alternative currencies is significant. This thesis examines the role of alternative currencies in Uzbekistan’s economy, focusing on opportunities in financial inclusion, remittances, and economic modernization, as well as the risks posed by volatility, regulation, and technological readiness. The study draws on secondary data from the World Bank, IMF, Central Bank of Uzbekistan, and other academic and policy sources. Findings suggest that while alternative currencies offer significant benefits, particularly in remittance flows and access to finance, careful regulatory design and infrastructure investment are essential for sustainable adoption.

HEADACHE AS A PRESENTING SYMPTOM OF NEUROLOGICAL EMERGENCIES

Headache as an initial manifestation of neurological emergencies represents a major clinical challenge, as it may be the first indicator of serious, life-threatening conditions requiring urgent intervention. Headaches are broadly classified into primary and secondary forms. Primary headaches, including migraine and tension-type headache, occur independently and are not associated with structural or systemic disease. In contrast, secondary headaches arise as a consequence of underlying pathological processes such as intracranial hemorrhage, cerebrovascular accidents, and central nervous system infections. Identifying specific headache features—particularly clinical “red flags” that suggest a secondary cause—is crucial for prompt diagnosis and timely management, ultimately improving patient outcomes.

NON-LINEAR SPATIAL DYNAMICS OF METHANE RELEASE IN UNDERGROUND BOREHOLES FOR SUSTAINABLE MINING PRACTICES

This paper addresses the challenge of enhancing energy efficiency in the utilization of methane from coal mines to support the sustainable development of geotechnologies, particularly in the transition to cleaner, resource-efficient energy production. This issue is critical because the anthropogenic impact of methane emissions from coal mines on global climate change is 21 times greater than that of carbon dioxide. Coal seams rich in gas and the adjacent rocks are to be classified as technogenic coal-gas deposits, with the extracted gas viewed as an alternative energy resource. Current methods for managing coalmine methane require improvement, as the existing "mine-longwall" approach does not adequately consider the spatial and temporal specifics of the production face's advancement. This gap is particularly relevant in the context of environmentally friendly coal mining. The aim of this study is to uncover patterns that illustrate the non-linear dynamics of methane release in underground boreholes, thereby fostering the sustainable development of geotechnologies through improved quality of the extracted methane-air mixture.

PREDICTION OF CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE THROUGH LINEAR REGRESSION USING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE.

The surge in cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) has become a global challenge with a steadily climbing trend of cardiovascular deaths from 12.1 million in 1990 to 18.6 million in 2019 [1, 2]. Risk prediction, a primary strategy in addressing this worldwide problem, has brought significant benefits to some developed countries through the improvement of the effectiveness of life intervention and reduction of economic burden [3, 4]. Therefore, risk prediction has been expected as an efficient way to achieve World Health Organization (WHO) goals for reducing CVD-related mortality by 25% by 2025, and some classic CVD prediction models (e.g., the Framingham [5] and SCORE [6], referred to as traditional models [T-Ms] in this study) has been incorporated into clinical guidelines by the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) and the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association (ACC/AHA) [7, 8].

INTERTEXTUALITY AND IRONY IN POSTMODERN BRITISH FICTION

This article examines the interrelation of intertextuality and irony as defining features of postmodern British fiction. Postmodern writers challenge the traditional concepts of authorship, originality, and narrative reliability by constructing texts that refer to and reinterpret previous literary and cultural works. Intertextuality serves as a means of establishing dialogue between texts and historical contexts, while irony functions as a critical and self-reflective device that exposes contradictions within language and ideology. Through the analysis of works by John Fowles, Julian Barnes, Jeanette Winterson, Martin Amis, and Ian McEwan, the study reveals how these techniques contribute to the creation of a multi-layered, self-conscious narrative structure. The article argues that the combination of intertextuality and irony not only defines the aesthetic nature of postmodern fiction but also reflects the broader philosophical skepticism characteristic of postmodern thought.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CLINICAL COURSE OF RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS IN PATIENTS WITH DIABETES MELLITUS

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and diabetes mellitus (DM), particularly type 2 DM, are chronic inflammatory diseases whose co-occurrence presents a significant clinical challenge. This article reviews the specific characteristics of RA in patients with DM. The comorbidity is relatively common and driven by shared pathophysiological mechanisms, primarily chronic inflammation mediated by pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α and IL-6, which contribute to both insulin resistance and joint destruction. The clinical course of RA in diabetic patients is characterized by atypical symptom presentation (masked pain due to neuropathy), a complex overlap of arthropathies, and a markedly increased risk for severe complications, including accelerated cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, infections, renal impairment, and ocular damage. Diagnosis is complicated by the confounding effects of hyperglycemia on inflammatory markers and imaging findings. Effective management requires a multidisciplinary approach prioritizing strict glycemic control, careful selection of antirheumatic drugs with consideration of their metabolic effects, and aggressive prophylaxis against cardiovascular and skeletal complications. Early detection, individualized treatment, and coordinated care among specialists are crucial for improving outcomes and quality of life in this high-risk patient population.

CLINICAL AND MICROBIOLOGICAL FEATURES OF MULTIDRUG-RESISTANT PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS IN PATIENTS WITH COMORBID CONDITIONS

Multidrug-resistant pulmonary tuberculosis (MDR-TB) remains a significant global health challenge, particularly in patients with comorbid conditions that complicate diagnosis and treatment. This study investigates the clinical manifestations, microbiological characteristics, and treatment outcomes of MDR-TB in patients with associated diseases. A cohort of 120 patients with confirmed MDR-TB was analyzed, of whom 58 had one or more comorbid conditions, including diabetes mellitus, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), HIV infection, and cardiovascular diseases. The study found that comorbidities altered the clinical presentation of MDR-TB, often leading to atypical radiological patterns and prolonged bacterial persistence. Microbiological analysis revealed higher rates of extensive drug resistance and delayed sputum conversion in patients with comorbidities. Treatment outcomes were less favorable in this group, with increased rates of treatment failure and adverse drug reactions. The findings underscore the need for individualized treatment strategies and integrated care approaches for MDR-TB patients with comorbid conditions to improve clinical outcomes.

THE IMPACT OF OBESITY ON THE CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM

The prevalence of obesity is escalating globally, posing a significant health challenge. Its impact on cardiovascular health stems from both the direct effects of obesity and its association with various comorbidities such as hypertension, diabetes, insulin resistance, and sleep apnea syndrome. Atherosclerosis and coronary artery disease are notably exacerbated by obesity. Structural and functional alterations of the heart induced by obesity contribute to the development of heart failure, while the modified myocardial structure heightens susceptibility to atrial fibrillation and sudden cardiac death. Intriguingly, obesity exhibits a paradoxical protective effect on the clinical outcomes of underlying cardiovascular diseases, termed the "obesity paradox." Advancements in cardiac imaging techniques enable the early identification of cardiac structural and functional changes in obese individuals. This review aims to elucidate the intricate relationship between obesity and cardiovascular diseases, delineating the underlying mechanisms. Moreover, it highlights emerging cardiac diagnostic methods that facilitate the timely detection and management of subclinical conditions, thereby averting cardiovascular events.
