THE LEXICALIZATION METHOD OF WORD FORMATION IN THE KARAKALPAK LANGUAGE

Some words in a language, when used together within a word combination without change, begin to acquire a specific meaning or concept. Over time, such a combination of words—or a meaningful word with an auxiliary word, or even a phraseological expression—may develop into a single, unified word. The emergence of new words in this way is referred to as the lexico-syntactic method of word formation.

METHODS OF DETERMINING THE MEANING OF A WORD IN THE CONTEXT OF TRANSLATION

This article shows three methods of studying the meanings of words – reference theory, component analysis and postulates of
meaning based on the analysis of different examples. In the process of translation, the fact that the translator does not understand the meaning of the word in the context of the original language, but the meaning of the word itself, causes problems such as the wrong translation of this word in the translation. It is this research that helps to overcome such a problem. The following results are presented in the research: reference theory cannot give the full meaning of the word, it is used together with the component analysis, the two analysis methods cannot give the meaning of the word in the context. The third - the method of analysis of meaning forms can determine the pragmatic and semantic features of the word, and this is convenient for the translator.

PHRASEOLOGY. DISTINGUISHING FIXED AND FREE WORD COMBINATIONS

This article explores the distinction between fixed and free word combinations within the study of phraseology. Fixed word combinations, such as idioms and proverbs, are characterized by their rigid structure and non-compositional meanings, whereas free word combinations exhibit greater syntactic flexibility and transparency of meaning. The study utilizes a descriptive and comparative methodology, analyzing linguistic corpora from both spoken and written texts to identify the structural and functional differences between these two categories of word combinations. The results highlight the cognitive processes involved in the use and comprehension of fixed and free expressions, underscoring their respective roles in both native and second language acquisition. This research provides valuable insights into the importance of understanding these distinctions for linguistic theory and language learning.

LEXICAL FEATURES OF WORD FORMATION IN THE MODERN German LANGUAGE

This thesis discusses the types of word formation in the modern German language and the ways in which they are formed. Word formation is one of the key ways to expand the lexical composition of the language and establish relationships between different parts of speech. By studying word formation as a process of creating new derivatives, it is possible to determine the influence of human creative activity on the activation of unproductive models, the creation of new derivational elements, and the creation of different types of word creation.

COMPARING WORD ORDER IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK SENTENCES

Word order plays a crucial role in sentence structure, meaning, and clarity in any language. English and Uzbek differ significantly in this aspect: English and Uzbek differ significantly in word order: English follows SVO, while Uzbek primarily uses SOV. This difference influences sentence formation and emphasis. These differences affect emphasis, sentence interpretation, and overall communication strategies. In English, altering word order can lead to ungrammatical sentences or change the intended meaning. In contrast, Uzbek allows for greater flexibility, enabling speakers to shift emphasis without losing grammatical correctness. This paper explores the fundamental differences between English and Uzbek word order, examining their impact on sentence formation, emphasis, and question structures. Understanding these distinctions is essential for linguists, translators, and language learners seeking to master both languages.
