POETRY AND POETS IN THE QURAN AND HADITH
The study explores the place of poetry and poets in the Quran and Hadith, focusing on the religious, cultural, and moral perspectives conveyed in Islamic teachings. While pre-Islamic society regarded poetry as a central form of artistic and social expression, the Quran and Hadith adopt a balanced and critical approach, distinguishing between poetry that promotes truth, virtue, and spiritual values and poetry rooted in falsehood, arrogance, and moral corruption. The research analyzes Quranic verses – particularly in Surah Ash-Shu‘ara – and Prophetic traditions to highlight the ethical standards set for poetic creativity and the role of poets in guiding or misleading society. A CULTURAL AND ETHNOGRAPHIC APPROACH TO THE STUDY OF UZBEK AND CHINESE ANTHROPONYMS
This article explores the anthroponyms of the Uzbek and Chinese peoples from a cultural-ethnographic perspective. It highlights how naming traditions reflect social structures, beliefs, customs, and historical developments in each culture. The study examines naming ceremonies, the influence of religion and superstition on name selection, the role of family and clan in naming practices, and the evolution of personal naming systems. By comparing Uzbek and Chinese naming customs – from protective names intended to safeguard children to the Chinese practice of multiple names throughout life – the paper reveals both unique cultural specifics and shared human concerns embodied in personal names.

CULTURAL CONCEPTS OF HEALTH: A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF FRENCH, ENGLISH, AND RUSSIAN HEALTH BELIEFS THROUGH HUMOR
This study employs humor and anecdotal evidence to investigate cultural perspectives on health and medical procedures in France, England, and Russia. The study investigates how deeply ingrained cultural ideas about sickness, treatment choices, and healthcare systems are reflected in national jokes, colloquial idioms, and popular tales using a qualitative content analysis technique. The analysis shows clear trends: English emphasis on bowel regularity, stoicism, and natural remedies; French obsession with liver dysfunction and preference for suppositories and mineral water; and Russian attitudes marked by disregard for preventive care, celebration culture at odds with health consciousness, and notable differences between public and private healthcare. The results show that humor is a useful cultural artifact for comprehending beliefs and actions connected to health. This comparative study contributes to cross-cultural health communication research and highlights the importance of cultural competence in medical practice and public health interventions.

Specifically, changes in university enrollment figures and the evolution of the normative legal framework were examined. The analysis provides a scientific justification for the historical basis and effectiveness of the targeted quota system introduced after 2020.

THE ROLE OF EXCURSIONS IN THE PROCESS OF LEARNING RUSSIAN
The article discusses the role of excursions as an effective method in teaching Russian to students who are not philology majors. It analyses the possibilities of using excursions to develop speech skills, expand vocabulary, form sociocultural competence, and increase motivation to learn the language. The practical and communicative nature of excursion activities is emphasised. It is shown that excursions contribute to the development of speech activity, increase motivation to learn the language, form cultural competence and create conditions for natural communication. Examples of types of excursions and methodological recommendations for conducting them are provided. The conclusion is made about the need to include excursions in Russian as a foreign language teaching programmes.

This article analyzes the causes and mechanisms of the mismatch between anthroponyms and their real-life referents in English and Uzbek. Drawing on major theories of reference, it demonstrates how names undergo semantic broadening, loss of transparency, and cultural reinterpretation under the influence of historical, cultural, and intertextual factors. Examples show that English anthroponyms often develop metaphorical generalization (“Einstein,” “Don Juan”), while Uzbek names reflect folkloric and mythopoetic layers (“Tohir,” “Otabek,” “Oybarchin”). The study argues that personal names function not only as identifiers but also as carriers of cultural memory and collective imagery.
