The major aim of the present research is to investigate the effects of listening To English News on improving the vocabulary of English majors at a Universities Worldwide. The researcher called for 60 students to volunteer to Take part in the study, 30 of whom were assigned to the experimental group And the other half assigned to the control group. The aim of this study is to examine the key features and differences of the Australian English variant (AuE). The work included an analysis of the concept of "language variant", a review of the historical background of the formation of this variant of the English language, and a study of its grammatical and lexical features. The relevance of the study is due to the growing economic, political and cultural interest in the Australian continent. As a result, it was found that the regional differences between Australian English and British English are gradually increasing, which allows us to consider it as a variant that is already beginning to assert itself as an independent language.

This research analyzes the stylistic-evaluative functions of conditional sentences in English. In particular, we analyze the functions of conditional sentences in English on the material of literary texts. The corpus data for our analysis are literary works of English writers. The research materials are conditional sentences of the literary texts in English. The procedure of analysis goes through the following stages: linguistic and extralinguistic context consideration, sample analysis, interpretation, functional analysis. The results of our study show that conditional sentences in English literary texts are used to evaluate people (psychological, physical, intellectual qualities), things (physical, economic qualities) and phenomenon (environmental features) both positively and negatively.

Substantive phraseological units play a significant role in language communication, providing specific details about objects, actions, or concepts. In English linguistics, studies have examined the syntactic and semantic properties of substantive phraseological units, highlighting their role in conveying meaning and enhancing discourse coherence. Similarly, research on substantive phraseological units in Uzbek linguistics has emphasized the unique features of Uzbek substantive phrases, such as their agglutinative nature and semantic richness. Cross-cultural studies have also compared the use of substantive phraseological units in English and Uzbek languages, revealing differences in word order, syntactic structures, and cultural influences.

Riddle is a genre of folk art, which remains to be one of the least developed.  The main characteristic of them is the search for and finding the answer to the encoded text. By analyzing English riddles, their structural, semantic and cultural features are described, mechanisms such as metaphor and homonymy lying at the basis of riddles are studied and a detailed classification of English riddles is developed. Riddles in English are found in the form of simple, complex and compound sentences, moreover they can make the text. They fall into declarative, interrogative and imperative sentences according to the communicative type. In terms of Pragmatics, sacred, educational, and entertaining riddles are classified. In this article I tried to give some information about syntax in old English and its history, compound and complex sentences in old English and  old English vocabulary.  Old English was a highly synthetic language.  It had a well-developed system of grammatical forms, which indicate the connection between words. It was originally a spoken language; therefore the written forms of the language resembled oral speech – unless the texts were literal translations from Latin. Consequently, the syntax of  the sentence was relatively simple. Coordination of clauses prevailed over subordination and complicated syntactical structures were rare.
